Help for Allergies, Thyroid & Much More!

If you prowl the internet you’ll soon find numerous sites recommending black seed for a multitude of conditions: weak digestion, asthma, allergies, inflammation, memory loss, hair loss, fungal infections, and many more. But you don’t have to take the word of just any site. The Journal of Pharmacognosy and Phytochemistry  published a monograph of the plant, listing the seed as having documented properties: antibacterial, antifungal, antioxidant, anti-arthritic, cardioprotective, gastroprotective, antidiabetic and anticancer. Wow.

When it comes to allergies, black seed has been clinically studied in both oral and topical applications. Studies used the black seed oil as a nasal drop or as a capsule, and both improved allergic symptoms. (Read more.)

Hypothyroid Help

One of the most recent reports on black seed tested its benefit for hypothyroid.   Study participants all had Hashimoto’s thyroiditis and were given 2 grams of encapsulated powdered black seed daily for 8 weeks along with their dose of levothyroxine (thyroid hormone). By the end of the study “treatment with Nigella sativa significantly reduced body weight and body mass index (BMI). Serum concentrations of thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) and anti-thyroid peroxidase (anti-TPO) antibodies decreased.”

Wow.

The crazy thing is, the studies and benefits keep coming. Nigella sativa has been proven as effective as steroid cream in treating eczema, is helpful for hair loss,   may help control blood sugar, reduced and/or prevented gastric ulcer in rats (also), and much more.

If you’ve got any of the above conditions – allergies, hair loss, hypothyroid, eczema, etc – you might want to give black seed oil a try. If you do, please let us know how it worked for you. The more feedback we get from our customers the better we can do our jobs!
